Your unique mission may involve raising a child, becoming the president of your nation, or loving your spouse with all your heart. You may be here to make an enormous contribution to the arts or to make a scientific discovery that changes the course of history. You may be here to teach third grade at your local elementary school.
The worldly scope and scale of your unique mission is irrelevant; what matters is that you embrace the role that is especially suited to you. Many people turn their backs on their unique mission because it doesn’t seem spectacular enough to them or because it doesn’t make them enough money. They spend the rest of their lives haunted by the nagging sense that something is wrong or missing. Matthew Kelly
